Dr. Korsi Ashong is an Agribusiness and Value Chain Financing Expert with extensive experience in livelihood rural development. Korsi has served local and international partners such as the Universities of London, Exeter, and Saskatchewan. Others are DFID, World Bank and UNDP. In Ghana, Korsi has served NGOs, consultancy firms, bank and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) diverse agricultural financing projects. In 2002-2005, Korsi led a DFID peri-urban livelihood research project in the Kumasi Peri Urban Interface on two projects. He later participated in the training of Regional/ District Agricultural Extension Officers/ Agents in all the 10 regions of Ghana as a consultant for Owusu-Ansah Amoaku and Associates in 2013-2016, in Agricultural Value Chains and their Financing. He also participated in the AMEA and AGRA study on multi-party risk-sharing, input financing models in Ghana and Burkina Faso. With Microfin, Korsi participated in the VSLA landscape analysis, VSLA development, VSLA linkage, and institutional mapping for VSLA financing. Korsi sees more potentials and is interested in partnerships that can further explore Agribusiness financing opportunities.
